Holistic Postpartum Recovery
90 minute session includes:
Check-in & setting intentions
We will begin by checking in with how you are feeling emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We will take some time to set some intentions for what you would like to receive from your session, and where you may need the most support. I will help to guide you through a self-care practice, while preparing you an herbal recovery tea.
Bath Soaks
Based on your postpartum recovery & preferences I will prepare one of the following:
Foot bath: made with ginger and epsom salt to assist the lymphatic system and help with any postpartum swelling you may have.
Ritual bath: is in order, we will prepare the healing herbs to be strained and used in the bath, along with bath salts.
During your cleansing ritual, we will provide you with a guided meditation to support your wellness and to help you with any intentions you are setting for yourself during our session.
Abdominal & Body Care
After your cleansing ritual, we will begin the abdominal & body care. We will begin with applying the warm herbal compress on your abdomen, which will stimulate your digestion and aid in your recovery. We will continue with the herbal massage oil.
This is a great time to also begin to process through your birth story and receive support and healing.
Bengkung Belly Binding
Finally we will begin the belly-binding ritual. Bengkung Belly Binding is the art of wrapping a postpartum women’s belly for physical support to help with the recovery process after childbirth. This Malaysian style wrapping technique consists of using a long, thin piece of non-stretch fabric and wrapping it around your hips and abdomen. Women are traditionally wrapped as soon after birth as possible, ideally day 3-5, each day, for 40 days or longer if needed.
After a cesarean birth women should wait at least 6 weeks until the incision is mostly healed before they are wrapped. At this point, belly binding is used primarily for postural support and alleviating low back pain during physical activity and/or baby-wearing.
Benefits of belly binding include
Provides support to the torso while vital organs return to their pre-pregnancy size and position.
Improves posture leading to better breastmilk supply and expelling breastmilk.
Material on hips encourages cervix to close faster and supports weakened perineum.
Relieves back pain.
Stabilizes loosened ligaments.
Support of spine improves energy level.
Encourages repair and closing of the abdominal muscles – diastasis recti.
After the ritual, we will show you how you can belly-bind yourself, or demonstrate the practice for your partner or other support person.

BABYWEARING CONSUlting
Babywearing Basics Session (1.5 hours)
I'll help you find the best fit! I will bring with me a variety of carriers and you can try them all on and see what feels right. We'll discuss your goals (like comfort, feeding on the go, ease, etc) and help you select the best carrier for your growing family.
Mini Session (30 minutes)
Got a carrier but not confident how to use it? I can help! This session is ideal for those seeking assistance with their own carrier.
Babywearing is an ancient practice seen around the world with so many modern options! I love babywearing and am so excited to support your journey through this process.
In addition to the practical convenience of being able to move around hands-free, babywearing nurtures a strong emotional bond between parent and child, promoting secure attachment and bonding. Modern studies confirm what generations have instinctively known — that the physical closeness, warmth, and rhythmic motion of babywearing have a positive impact on an infant's physical and emotional development.

Important reminders
Birth-work is a fluid and flexible lifestyle which means that the first week of services will likely look different than the planned schedule due to the spontaneous nature of birth and the unpredictable day you will come home from the birth facility. Additionally, as long as minimum hours are being met, the exact days and times can be flexible to fit the weekly individual needs of your family.
